About Me
I graduated from Dartmouth College in the class of 2011. I majored in Computer Science with a focus in security research.Currently, my work is in the computer field – specifically with security research. I have done independent research and work in the fields of cyber-security. Previously, I interned at Memento, Inc, contributing to aspects of their enterprise fraud detection application. I also interned at Kurzweil Technologies, working on the Kurzweil-National Federation for the Blind knfbReader project, developing special OCR applications for mobile devices. Prior to that, I co-founded and co-developed DebateNet with Mark Bao. I also worked with the Wellesley Public Schools Business Office where I created an internal web application for a new data collection mandate. Additionally, I have worked as a webmaster and developer on many smaller projects.
I spend a significant amount of time working in the field of emergency medicine, as an Emergency Medical Technician. I currently work with a town volunteer fire department as an EMT. I previously served as Director of Dartmouth Emergency Medical Services, a student-run BLS quick response squad (see my blog for some of my thoughts on emergency medicine on college campuses). I also worked with a state medical response team and a federal disaster medical team which both focus on mass casualty incidents.
I have a history of entrepreneurship and leadership – first inventing a throw-and-catch toy called Pocket Bungee® at age 9. I incorporated SMR Enterprises, Inc. to serve as a parent company for this product, and received a US Patent (US D438582) and trademark on the invention. Within SMR, I managed the legal aspects, finances, production, and marketing of this product. My entrepreneurial spirit manifests itself today in terms of application design and creativity in research rather than toy design, but I remain interested in physical design as well.
